The ingredients are fresh, the service is friendly, and the environment is comfortable for a party dinner. It's a very good choice. I told the boss that I wanted sour ginger, and he gave me a lot of it, like a big mountain. Ha ha

This was our second visit to Yuyake Dan Dan Tapas and the experience was extremely enjoyable from the atmosphere, the service, and best of all the food! We were so excited to see each dish as it arrived so artistically prepared! We had the Bone Marrow - a first for my 2 guests BBQ Skewers Edamame Chili Tofu Soft Shell Crab - also a first for my guests Handrolls - Salmon Skin and Spicy Scallop Everything was so delicious. The standouts were the handrolls, soft shell crab and bone Marrow. Such a wonderful experience to share with family or friends. Highly recommended.

Greeting you from the entrance to Stoneridge Mall, you will find an establishment adorned by traditional Japanese looking wooden panels, textiles, and paintings. This is Yuyake Dan Dan Japanese Tapas. As the name suggests, you'll find small plates of good eats alongside larger platters intended for sharing. At each table you'll be able to scan the QR code for the online menu which can be found at https://menunate.com/yuyake-dan-dan-izakaya/menu. The highlights of the menu are definitely their fresh fish and seafood, some of which are imported from Toyusu Market in Japan. You'll find a lot of unique dishes that are worth trying. However, be aware that due to the source of these ingredients, you'll be paying premium for them. The price point is definitely higher than most Japanese establishments but due to the rarity of some of their items (many get sold out), Yuyake Dan Dan stands out. In addition to their specials, you'll find staple items like bento boxes, sushi rolls, ramen, nigiri, sashimi, and grilled items. They also have a pretty full drink menu including sake and beer. Tea and water are complimentary. We weren't too hungry and since we were planning to grab a snack before leaving the mall, we didn't order too much. We did end up trying the omakase premium nigiri and it had a good collection of seafood including uni (sea urchin), fish belly, scallops, and an assortment of tasty fish (some melted in your mouth and others were meaty and had a good bite). They also have a standard omakase that serves more typical fish like salmon and tuna. We also ordered the monster roll which included soft shell crab and shrimp tempura. It was displayed beautifully and each bite had a good crunch to it. The grilled whole squid was also very flavorful. It had a side of their special mayonnaise and it paired well with the grilled tentacles. The staff were pretty good about checking in, cleaning our dishes, and refilling our teas. They seem to speak Cantonese, too, so if you speak the language, you may earn some brownie points in the service. I did notice one of them drinking with some customers or perhaps co-workers who were off duty or maybe the owner of the restaurant. Seating is decent with indoor and outdoor options. We came on a weekday during lunch and it was about half full so I can imagine during peak hours, it may be packed but I did notice they have a hand written waitlist at the front. Overall, Yuyake Dan Dan offers high quality seafood and sushi at the expected price range to match. It's definitely not something I'd expect at a mall but it's a solid place for a fine meal and small bites. While you may not be filling up on a budget here, you'll be taking your palate on an adventure and getting a taste of Japan's finest seafood without having to leave the country.

A pleasant spot in Stoneridge Mall! I was honestly so impressed with this place and was shocked a place of good quality was at the mall! Their spider roll tasted so fresh. The avocados were ripe, and the soft shell crab tastes freshly fried and not old. I ended up only getting that as the main entree because their happy hour prices were amazing! I think everything I pictured below was about $50-$60 because a lot of their happy hour items were about $4-$6. I think I could do without the karaage and sunomono since those were not as tasty, but I would definitely get the balanced battered fried calamari, tekka maki, edamame, and takoyaki again.
